What is Keralase?
Keralase is designed to stimulate hair growth and revitalize the scalp. Improvement in scalp health and hair growth will likely be seen through a series of six treatments with each scheduled two weeks apart.
After extensive research, Kerafactor serum was designed to address thinning hair with a specific selection of five bio-identical growth factors and two skin proteins. Each growth factor’s concentration is significantly increased and tailored for scalp revitalization. This customized approach answers those typical growth factor deficiencies causing hair loss and poor scalp health. The skin proteins assist in scalp circulation as well as hair health. Kerafactor delivers large quantities of key growth factors and proteins into the scalp that lead to significant improvement in scalp health and vascularization – leading to hair rejuvenation.
What Happens During My Treatment?
Your skin is naturally designed to keep things out. Your technician will first use the Lutronic LaseMD to optimize the absorption properties of your scalp. The unique LaseMD laser delivery system has been proven to prepare the skin for increased absorption of nanoliposomes.
After the scalp is pre-conditioned with the LaseMD laser, KeraFactor serum is typically applied to promote stronger, thicker and fuller looking hair in both men and woman.
Keralase Results and Recovery
The Keralase Treatment is less than 30 minutes and promises to show better results than PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma). The laser treatment feels slightly prickly and warm, but any discomfort is minimal when compared with PRP injections. While everyone is different, patients can expect to start seeing improvement in scalp health, increase in hair shaft size, and overall increased density by the end of the protocol. Maintenance is required approximately 2-3 times/per year.

The KeraFactor Shampoo and Conditioner exfoliates and stimulates the scalp and hair using a unique combination of conditioners and growth factors designed to enhance scalp circulation and reinvigorate the scalp and hair, leading to hair that appears fuller, has more body, and is healthier. How Does it Work?
Pulses of energy gradually heat the hair follicles deep into the skin’s subdermal layer to eliminate hair regrowth while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. An additional cooling mechanism further ensures the surface of your skin stays cool and comfortable throughout your treatment.
Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?
Most of our patients find the Lutronic Clarity II laser treatment comfortable. While patients may explain a mild “snapping” on the skin as the laser is moved over the treatment area, they are more relaxed compared to their experience with other hair removal devices. Patients note they mostly feel a warm sensation, similar to a hot stone massage. Clarity has a specialized skin-cooling system that provides a more comfortable treatment.
Which Areas of the Body Can You Treat?
The Lutronic Clarity II laser can treat any area of the body where hair is present. The most common areas for treatment include the legs, underarms, bikini line, upper lip and chin for women, and the back, chest and arms for men.
What to Expect During Laser Hair Removal Treatment
During your first visit to our office, Dr. Desjarlais and our cosmetic team will develop a treatment plan customized to your skin and your aesthetic goals. Most patients require a series of 6-8 laser treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart (depending on the area being treated).
Depending on the size and area to be treated, it could take anywhere from 5-30 minutes.
You may see some hair reduction from your first treatment. However, most patients need at least five treatments, spaced 4-8 weeks apart for optimal results.
In the days leading up to your laser hair removal treatment, be sure to shave the area you plan to treat. Refrain from waxing or using an epilator on the area during your entire treatment series.

What Happens During My Treatment?
Dr. Desjarlais and our cosmetic team will work with you to develop a customized treatment plan. During the treatment, DermaV applies laser energy that is absorbed by your blood vessels and converted to heat, which contracts and eventually eliminates them. Using controlled heating, DermaV’s laser energy targets unwanted, visible pigment while protecting the top layers of your skin with patented cooling technology.
DermaV Results and Recovery
You may experience mild redness and puffiness immediately following the laser, but you should be able to return to normal activities right away. Some lesions may immediately disappear while others will take time to be broken down and removed by your body. Your skin will continue to regenerate and rejuvenate for several weeks.
