What is Allura Liposuction?

Allura allows Dr. Desjarlais to beautifully contour your body without having to use general anesthesia or make large cuts, plus you will not have to take weeks out of your life to recover.

What Happens During My Treatment?

Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. If you desire, a mild sedative can be prescribed but this is not absolutely necessary, and all patients remain awake throughout the procedure. Doctor will make very small incisions (~2 mm) and numb the area to be treated using a cannula. Once the area is numb, a small laser will be introduced through the same small incisions. You will feel some pressure but will be comfortable. After laser treatment, he will apply suction to remove the melted fat.

Depending on your individual treatment plan, he may choose to return with the laser to tighten the tissue, although he may choose to combine the fat melting and skin tightening treatment during the first pass with the laser. Your procedure time will vary depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed, but typically the procedure time takes little more than two hours. All of these options will be discussed with you at the consultation.

The procedure is minimally invasive and safe. There is no need for general anesthesia and can be completed in the comfort of our office versus an operating suite.

Helium Plasma Energy

When the helium plasma contacts the undersurface of the skin, it tightens it instantly to a degree that is unmatched by other current technologies such as ultrasound, radio frequency, or lasers. Additionally, the helium plasma is much cooler than laser energy, making it far safer. We now have an FDA approved device that can deliver helium plasma in an entirely safe and effective way for facial and body skin tightening.

What Happens During My Treatment?

Using local anesthesia in the in-office setting, tiny incisions are made under the chin and earlobe, through which several absorbing sutures are passed to elevate the jowls, neck, and cheeks. Then through these same incisions, a special device delivers helium plasma energy to the undersurface of the facial and neck skin tightening and sculpting it over the previously placed sutures.

The helium plasma energy not only tightens the skin immediately but also stimulates the production of collagen in the skin that continues to improve the skin tightening over the ensuing months. This procedure takes less time and the results are similar to a traditional facelift without large incisions and downtime.

Renuvion Results and Recovery

Mild swelling and light bruising can be expected after this procedure. This is usually gone in 5-7 days, however most patients are presentable in 2-3 days when normal activities can be resumed. Post procedure pain is minimal, usually relieved with over-the-counter analgesics such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
